A library on my phone
I am in love with this app. I have access to so many books!! I love the feel of pages and the smell of books, but this app has given me such freedom to read so many books. The audiobook feature has allowed me to listen to books while i do housework, drive, and paint. It is the best app for someone with social anxiety. I have the library with me all the time!!!

It's not just the audiobook credit system...
...but you've deleted tons of books, made books "free previews" that cut off after a chapter, audio book buffering is a nightmare, books are mislabeled/open to other books by the author... I'll switch back to relying on the very free Overdrive via my library. I may have to wait for books, but that's better than paying for reduced selection & frustrating consumer experience.

I really like this app the only thing that bugs me is they takes books out after a little while so if you want to reread it you can't cause it might not be there anymore

No free books
It might be good if someone wants to pay for a monthly service, then you get to read books. I couldn't find a way to purchase just one.

Scribd is one of the best sites offering so much of literature on varied subjects. It is indeed rendering an excellent service to the society in the field of knowledge distribution.

More issues than I have patience for
90% of the books I read/listen to don't actually save their place. Each time i open the app they start over from the beginning. Also, the app needs a way to remove books from "currently reading" list. Every single book I've read shows on this list even if I've finished it already, due to the above mentioned problem. ETA: Audio playback stops randomly, regardless of whether it's streamed or saved to device. I have to close app in task manager then restart. Notification bar controls don't work.

Language search
Good app but lacks the posibility to search by language. Take example from TuneIn Radio where you can either search by language and then category, or select the language after the category is chosen.

I've already cancelled my Scribd subscription. First, my credit card was double charged for my monthly premium membership. This was eventually corrected. Next, my Scribd password is not recognized on my smartphone, but my tablet doesn't have the same problem. TTS is missing. This is very important to me. I want the application to read books to me in offline mode (like Moon Reader). Also, I want an integrated dictionary such as "ColorDict" which acts both as a dictionary and Wikipedia. Again, this is not included ! Book selections are getting smaller every day. First, they removed a lot of romance novels. Personally, I don't care about this type of books, but the problem is that this negative trend continues. Now, Scribd decided to put limits on audio books as well. Next, the ebook reader is quite limited: it lacks customization. Middle-aged and older folks, or anyone with vision problems, will have difficulty reading books on Scribd. A user cannon increase the size of the text to satisfy his personal needs . This is certainly the biggest problem of all. At least, Scribd should give us a choice to download ebooks and read them on our preferred ebook reader.

Why do I have to have a credit card for a 30 day free trial, as if I didn't already make an account, which you had to do in order to get anywhere, and don't even get me started on all the crap you wanted off of my card. Nope. This app has a great concept and the layout seems pretty good but I definitely will not be paying $9 monthly for it, I'd rather ads every othr chapter lol.

Worth every penny
If you love reading ,fiction or non-fiction, this app is for you. Especially if you skim some books for information and compare several different books like I do. It's a useful app for students of any age. I was also impressed with the "recommendations" which have given me so many titles based on my search habits. Scribd gives you a one month free trail. Make sure if you don't like it you cancel before 30 days or you are billed $8.99/month. It's worth the trial offer but if not the app site is will impress

I signed up for an annual membership with Scribd and loved the audiobook selection. I'm a working mom and I don't often have the time (or free hands) to sit down with a book (even now I'm typing with a baby strapped to my back). I loved Scribd; it was basically a less mind-numbing Netflix service, and I read tons more because of it. But the app was terrible. It froze constantly in "buffering" mode, it forgot my place (with each book, it's thrown me back to the beginning at some point), it told me I wasn't signed in or that I didn't have books stored to my device when I actually had 4 or 5. And then there was the loading time: ebooks and audiobooks took forever to load, whether I had a decent connection or not. It was just bad. Now they've announced that their audiobooks will be credit-based. I searched their library and all of my to-reads will be credit-based starting Sep 20, 2015. That means one audiobook per month, unless I double my spending. Boo. If this audiobook model wasn't going to be sustainable, they shouldn't have introduced it in the first place. I was able to overlook the crappy app for the amazing audiobook selection, but now it's just a crappy app.

Could be higher
Why does it keep buffering when I have it downloaded to my device? I'm also going to be cancelling because I signed up for the unlimited audio book availability. I listen for 8 hours a day while I'm assembling at work 5 days a week. At that rate I'd be spending well over 100 in a month. It's not worth it.

Used to love it
Scribd used to be my go to it app for interesting and unusual books and pdfs, there are some fantastic collections of books on all sorts of subjects and exploring Scribd was a real pleasure. Since the most recent update and new credit system I cannot access ANYTHING on Scribd, I'm locked in a purgatory of book loading then crashing. The only function that works is the button leading to the demand for my credit information. I spent a huge amount of time building a library on this app and now can't access any of it. Can't stand this app as it currently stands

Hate the new update!
When I first signed up I could play unlimited audio books but now there's a new credit system that only allows you to listen to one audio book per month and you have to pay for any additional one. Ugh! I used to live this app but now I hate it. I'm canceling my subscription!
